#028; U St & Me?

August 18, 2009

It’s official. It’s been building for months. Ever since I fell in love-at-first-sight with Busboys & Poets on the corner of 14th and V. The affair grew from there – $3 cocktail happy hour on little metal tables at Polly’s; Kostume Karaoke every other Wednesday and Solly’s PBR.

The U St. corridor – from Adam’s Morgan and 18th st. down to the developing buildings and concert venues of 9th – has stolen my heart. Petworth, don’t hate me, but your lovely churches and kind family atmosphere just can’t compare to the lights of the Lincoln Theater on opening night, the temptation of a Ben’s Chili Bowl hotdog.

If only life were so simple that having decided I want to live somewhere meant that I could just go live there! *shakes head* Thus is what August does to my brain! Daydreaming and the like will get me through, what about you?

And of course, that is why DC9 (U and 9th) this Thursday to hear 3 awesome local bands for just 8 bucks while chilling in the booths or at the bar is such a brilliant idea. 8:30pm. 😀

Exactly! The music venues on U St. are out of these world and seeing @alextheredparez and Idea Track opening for Bonjour, Ganesh is going to be a great way to kick off the (sort of)weekend! Thanks for the awesome transition into the review post I’ll be putting up about the guys (and the show) tonight!
