#054; No News is Good News [the first]

November 11, 2009

Quick link to a Rolling Stone exclusive that still sort-of breaks this little born and bred Boston-er’s heart:

Despite [Stephen] Tyler’s onstage insistence [last night] that he isn’t quitting the band, [Joe] Perry says Aerosmith is still considering touring and recording with a new singer. “He wants to take two years off from the band,” Perry says. “The rest of the band wants to keep on working. We have so many different options to fill up that time. Anything is possible at this point. Basically, any communication that we’ve had over the last couple of months has been through managers, so that’s been pretty strange.”

*goes to cry in a corner* I am so doing Aerosmith at tonight’s Kostume Karaoke @ Solly’s.

Aerosmith Rocks was my first LP, from my X-mas list as a 12-year-old (along with Kiss Destroyer).
I saw Aerosmith at the speedway in the next county; I stood in the infield surrounded by my high school classmates, sharing intoxicants, in the middle of a thunderstorm, while the band played “Lightning Strikes.”
They’ve broken up before; they’ll break up again. Trouble not.
